Catarina José focuses on the practical implications of GDPR

In this workshop on GDPR, organized in partnership by BAS and Conceito, Catarina José, director of HR, Compliance, Mkt & Com of this company, will present the main challenges in the practical implementation of the Regulation and the strategic approach that led to a pioneering process.

Established 37 years ago, Conceito is already a reference in the outsourcing of administrative and financial services, management consulting and taxation, with a portfolio of clients that integrates in the same proportion companies and national and international bodies operating in Portugal.

Due to the requirements of international regulations to which the sector is subject to, as well as the good practices that guide the company’s services, the issues of Confidentiality and Information Security have gained a growing importance in recent years, to which Conceito has always sought to respond to them. First, the implementation of a Quality Management System in 2014, associated with disaster recovery and business continuity management plans, which contributed to assuring customers a service of excellence, complemented by its professionals rigor and qualification and the know-how of the company.

The entry into force of the GDPR has brought the additional challenge of reconciling business management around the processing of personal data with the expectation of clients working in geographies where data protection practices have been implemented and have been consolidated for several years. Conceito began implementing the ISO International Information Security Standard, which makes it possible to cover almost all issues related to GDPR, being one of the 100 organizations in Portugal to obtain this certification and the only one so far in its sector of activity.
